The plants Brooklyn asks for most
Dracaena marginata, the dragon tree, is the plant we carry up the most Brooklyn staircases. It prefers bright indirect light and also tolerates lower light, it drinks rarely, and it grows tall without taking much floor area, which suits a narrow pre-war living room.
Heads up for pet owners: dracaena and corn plants are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed, so place them where pets genuinely cannot reach. The Peruvian apple cactus is non-toxic to cats and dogs, but its spines are not pet-friendly, so it belongs out of reach of playful paws.
- Non-toxic, spiny: 4'6" Peruvian Apple Cactus
- Toxic if chewed: 7' Corn Plant
